It seems like there has to be a day to celebrate Murphy's Law and today was the day. If anything could go wrong, it did. About the only thing that went correctly was the meeting with the principal. We talked about all sorts of things including the solar car competition tomorrow, which I am attending. I got most of the problems solved. AHHHHHHHHHHHH, just one of those days.....tomorrow........flick

What a meeting! The principals and the coaches had a meeting about respective roles and and happenings. The meeting was fantastic in that it was quite productive and lent itself to direction for us and the admin. I do not say that too much about meetings, but I have to say that about this one. The coach and I also worked with Inspiration with a class. You talk about engaged; the students were very engaged. It went well. I have also received a ton of emails concerning the Janus video. I know there is not too much to write today, but a lot of things happened...quite good. I will leave this week on a very happy note.....flick

Tomorrow's weather sounds ugleeeee so we may not have school. Nothing to worry about because I cannot control it. I am working on the in-service presentation and Photostory presentations. I have some time, but I want to be well-prepared for them, especially the in-service because teachers can be a tough audience. I guess it is good that I am old because they may have pity upon me. I am still preparing the embedded learning groups and will have three running simultaneously. I did find a facilitator for the math one. I did not relish doing three of them. Getting the paperwork done for all of them is quite time consuming. I am out and about visiting classes and talking with teachers. The new tech dude is doing well and taking a lot off of the plate. He will assimilate well, I am hopeful. I am just forging ahead and getting things moving at PV. My prinicpal sent to me a wonderful article entitled Benchmarking for Success: Ensuring U.S. Students Receive a World-Class Education. It is quite long, but I think you should read it. I have been doing a lot of research today for teachers, and it has been great. Being a resource person can be time consuming, but it all pays off in the end with sum learnin'. I guess I am like the proverbial sweet tooth in a candy store when I am able to find something new or a new web site that helps in the dissemination of knowledge. I still love the aspect of learning and discovery. There is so much out there, and I know that I am only scratching the surface. I am continually updating the wiki with more and more information for teachers to use. One of the middle level teachers skyped me into her class today so her students could view the process. I also helped on some hardware issues, set up some student projects with jing, worked with audacity with students, etc. One never knows what he/she will be doing next in this job, and I like that just fine. Oh, my prinicpal showed me a video which I feel is quite appropriate for this whole initiative. It deals with a university setting, which I feel many times spouts how it should be but does not practice what is preached. It is a great video, and I hope that you enjoy it.
